How to use it

  1. Upload your manuscript (.txt, .md, .docx, or .epub) or paste text with Chapter headings.
  2. Enter title, author, and blurb — used on your KDP listing and inside the ebook.

Tips for fiction authors

  • Use "Chapter 1" style headings so the formatter splits chapters correctly for the EPUB table of contents.
  • Run quote normalizer, scene break normalizer, and chapter heading formatter on your draft before upload for cleaner output.
  • EPUB is the recommended upload format for Kindle eBooks — KDP converts it for Kindle Unlimited automatically.
  • Generate cover art from your blurb, then add title and author text in KDP's cover creator or the book cover generator — AI covers are artwork only.
  • The KDP bundle ZIP includes README_KDP.txt with a step-by-step upload checklist — use it on your first publish.

Common questions

Is my manuscript stored on Entangled Text servers?

No. Text is processed only to generate your download file and is not saved to a database.

What is the difference between EPUB and the KDP bundle?

EPUB is the ebook file you upload as the manuscript. The bundle ZIP also includes metadata.json, blurb.txt, print HTML, cover image, and a Markdown backup.

How does Print PDF work?

It opens a styled HTML page with your front matter and chapters. Your browser print dialog lets you Save as PDF — the same approach as Story Studio Ship export.

Does this enroll my book in Kindle Unlimited?

No — you choose KU enrollment when publishing on KDP. This tool formats files KDP accepts.

Can I use this for paperbacks?

Use Print PDF or DOCX for print layout, then refine in Word or Vellum before uploading a print PDF to KDP.
