Copyright & DMCA Policy

1. Who owns what you write

You do. As between you and Entangled Text, you own everything you create here — your premise, outline, chapters, story bible, cover, and every export — including text produced with AI assistance. We claim no ownership of your manuscripts and no right to publish, sell, or license them, and we do not use your books to train AI models. You do not owe us a royalty, a credit line, or a share of anything you earn. You can export your work at any time and take it wherever you like.

Free EPUB and DOCX downloads carry a short Entangled Text foreword and afterword; the KDP bundle omits them on every plan, and Pro and Ultra remove them from all formats. That is a courtesy credit in the file, not a claim on your book.

What we cannot promise. Whether a given passage is protected by copyright is decided by law, not by us. In the United States and several other countries, registration and protection require meaningful human authorship, so material that is purely machine-generated may not be protectable on its own — even though we make no claim to it. Practically, the more you shape the premise, revise the drafts, and edit the prose, the stronger your position. That is one reason the studio is built around approving and editing every chapter rather than one-click output. If you plan to register a copyright, check your national copyright office's current guidance on AI-assisted works, and disclose AI-generated material where a registrar or retailer asks for it. 2. Respect for copyright

Entangled Text is a writing studio for authors. We do not operate as a novel aggregator or mirror for third-party reading sites. You may only import, store, or publish content through our Service if you have the legal right to do so.

3. URL import (your website)

Our URL import feature is intended for:

• Content you authored and publish on a website you control;
• Content you have written permission to copy and use; or
• Works in the public domain from approved sources (e.g. Project Gutenberg).

We block known third-party reading and aggregator domains. We require user attestation, domain verification for personal sites, rate-limited fetching, and robots.txt compliance. Importing from sites when prohibited by their terms of service is not allowed.

4. Publishing on Discover

URL-imported projects may be restricted from public publishing until domain ownership and rights are verified. Publishing infringing content may result in content removal and account termination.

5. Repeat infringers

We may terminate accounts of users who repeatedly upload or publish content that infringes copyright or violates these policies.

6. Reporting copyright infringement (DMCA)

Send copyright notices to [email protected]. Include:

• Identification of the copyrighted work;
• Identification of the infringing material and its URL on our Service;
• Your contact information;
• A statement of good-faith belief that use is not authorized;
• A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information is accurate and you are authorized to act;
• Your physical or electronic signature.

Email the notice to [email protected] with DMCA Takedown Request in the subject line. If you would rather not use email, you can reach us through the Contact page and we will reply with the address. We review valid notices and may remove or disable access to reported material.

7. Counter-notification

If your content was removed in error, you may submit a counter-notification to [email protected], or via the Contact page, with the information required under applicable law. We may restore content unless the complainant files a court action.
