How we report
Entangled Text News covers how AI is changing writing and book publishing, for novelists, self-published authors and people who work in the book business. It is published by Entangled Text, the book-writing platform at entangledtext.com.
Where stories come from
We follow reporting from established publications that cover technology, books and publishing, and we track which developments many outlets are covering at once. A story runs only when we can read the underlying reporting in full, and every article lists the sources it draws on at the end.
How articles are produced and checked
Articles are drafted with the help of automated writing tools working strictly from that source reporting, under the byline of the Entangled Text News Desk. Before anything is published, every direct quotation and every figure in the draft is checked against the text of the sources. A quote or number that cannot be found there is removed or sent back for rewriting, and a draft that still fails is not published.
- We do not invent people, quotes, figures, dates or events.
- Claims are attributed to the outlet or person who made them.
- We do not claim to have interviewed anyone or to have been somewhere we were not.
- Analysis pieces are labelled as analysis and say plainly what each source reported.
Independence
Entangled Text builds AI writing software. Our news coverage is not sponsored, and when a story concerns our own product or a direct competitor we say so.
